Robert Hale Andrews, Jr.

June 26, 1953 ~ June 14, 2019 (age 65)

Robert “Bob” Hale Andrews Jr, 65, of Abilene, Texas died June 14, 2019 at home after a lengthy battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Bob was born June 26, 1953 in Houston, Texas to Joyce Larson and Robert Andrews Sr. During his high school years the family moved frequently allowing him to attend five high schools in four years. They settled in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he graduated in 1971. After graduation Bob attended LSU. He then moved to Abilene, Texas where he spent the rest of his life until he became ill. In 2013 he moved to Amarillo to be with his children. Bob was a true “rough and tough” cowboy. He enjoyed working with his hands and was a contractor for 30+ years. He was known for his intricate and beautiful woodwork. He found happiness in being outdoors and had a passion for hunting and fishing. He passed on his hard work ethic and the love of nature to his children, teaching them at a young age to “live off the land”, shoot a gun, hunt, fish, ride horses and water ski. Bob was also a talented bag pipe player and got the opportunity to perform at the World’s Fair in San Antonio, Texas. Bob will be remembered as hardworking man who was a wonderful son, dad, brother and grandfather. He will missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hale Andrews Sr. and his sister, Jennifer Cleveland. He is survived by his mother, Joyce Larson of Abilene;  daughter, Stephanie Andrews of Amarillo; son, Matthew Andrews of Amarillo; brother, Adam Andrews of Abilene; sister, Kimberly Arauza of Abilene; granddaughter Ashlynne Robinson of Amarillo; grandson, Christopher Pointer of Amarillo; and great grandson, Atlas Robinson of Amarillo.

The family would like to extend our thanks to Kindred Hospice for their respectful care of Bob during his last days.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make a donation in Bob’s name to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
